Since launching in 2017, Deloitte’s WorldClass initiative works toward the goal of making an impact that matters in the lives of 100 million people by 2030. Through this program our practitioners across the world have used their skills and expertise to give back and participate in the change they hope to see in their community. The stories in this collection highlight some of these initiatives and the individuals impacted by this work.
In France, equal access to higher education is a challenge. Disparities in the skills and knowledge acquired in different high schools, prevents those from lower economic backgrounds from pursuing opportunities after their baccalaureate exams.
The Deloitte France Foundation developed educational programs to fight against school dropout rates—in consultation with teachers, principals, and directors.
Our Capital Filles Mentoring Program centers around strengthening the autonomy and confidence of French high school girls, through STEM mentoring and soft-skills workshop.
This encourages them to explore technology sectors, continue their education and gain job market skills.
As a long standing partner of the Jean-Jacques Rousseau high school, for the past 10 years, our focus has been to make an impact that matters in suburbs around Paris where unemployment rates and the opportunity inequality are high for young people.
Overall, the Deloitte professionals involved in these mentoring programs provide soft skill workshops, one-to-one mentoring, and tailored training. From cultural outings to internships, confidence building to lifelong skills, every mentee is encouraged to pursue further education or apprenticeships—equipped with knowledge, new tools, and a network of on-going support.
