“I encourage any woman to pursue a career in Financial Advisory because mine has exceeded my greatest expectations.”
Meet Tiphaney. She is a partner in Financial Advisory at Deloitte & Touche Bahamas. “I solve problems for clients—often conducting forensic investigations to determine the value of assets or debts, or assisting clients who find themselves in distress by executing a turnaround situation for the company.”
Tiphaney is passionate about resolving any challenge. In fact, the variety of clients keeps her interested and always learning. One day she’ll be managing a hotel, the next day a hospitality facility— or she could be conducting a forensic investigation. Every engagement is different. “Each one requires you to think outside of the box and keeps you on the cutting edge to provide stakeholders with the professional services that they deserve,” she says.
Tiphaney feels blessed to be at Deloitte. “We touch every industry, and every industry needs the services we provide,” she says. “Deloitte offers a wide range of opportunities to determine your niche and define a career path.” She encourages others to have an open mind and fully explore the many opportunities available. “Come in with the mindset that you serve your clients—to help them and help the firm achieve their goals.”
Tiphaney notes that the impact of her efforts goes beyond the clients she serves. She knows the importance of being a leader and mentor to others, especially women. “The value of having more women in my role is to let them know that the opportunities are limitless,” she says. “Women are able to bring fresh ideas, analyze the situation, present the options, and show the best course of action for challenging situations —all in a very professional manner.” As a woman, Tiphaney has felt supported and encouraged at Deloitte, enabling her to build problem- solving acumen. She notes her ability to present a tangible action plan and help solve a client’s problems often helps others see beyond gender and focus on solutions.
“I encourage any woman to pursue a career in Financial Advisory because mine has exceeded my greatest expectations.”
