Jeff is a Director within Deloitte’s Financial Advisory practice and leads Deloitte Canada’s Sport Business Advisory Practice.
During his time at Deloitte Jeff has worked with professional sport leagues, players’ association, professional teams, national Olympic committee, national sport organizations, sport technology companies, government, and lotteries on projects focused on growth strategy, sport betting, esports, revenue diversification, customer engagement, digital, economic impact analysis, market analysis, financial modelling, infrastructure, business case development, operating model and governance, asset review, NFTs, financial and commercial due diligence, workplace culture and conduct, and revenue/fan analytics.
Jeff was also an author of Deloitte Canada’s report on gaming/esports and sport betting reform respectively.
The gaming/esports paper - “D5 Esports Report” - outlined five commercial concepts for sport organizations and their corporate partners: i) integrating esports into the game day experience ii) leveraging existing gaming avidity amongst athletes to build their personal brand iii) creation of a holistic development pipeline for esports athletes iv) development of a digital platform to facilitate local esports initiatives, and v) how brands can build a sustainable presence in the esports community.
The sport betting reform paper “New Stakes in the Game” explores the economic opportunity for Canada associated with sport betting reform; whilst also presenting analysis and key considerations for a multitude of institutions and industries (government, lottery and gaming, media, ‘traditional’ sports, esports, venue operators) whom will ultimately determine the structure and scale of the industry in Canada. Jeff has been a contributor, on the topic of sport betting, to publications such ScoreGolf, the Toronto Star, Yahoo Finance and Parleh Media Group.
Jeff has been a presenter at the National Hockey League’s Club Business Meetings and Curling Canada’s National Curling Congress; and moderator at multiple industry conferences on the topic of sport business strategy, gaming/esports and sports betting. Jeff also served as an advisor to the Saint John Sea Dogs successful bid for the 2022 Memorial Cup tournament.
Jeff holds an Honors Business Administration (HBA), with distinction, from the Richard Ivey School of Business and is the Finance Director for the Ontario Para Network.
